MHOAA Conference Call Minutes
June 11, 2012
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m.
A Roll Call was taken. There were 7 present.
A motion to accept the Consent Agenda was made and seconded. The vote was unanimous.
Letter from the Membership and Retention Committee
It was requested that anyone observing any corrections forward them to the committee by Friday June 15th.
Development Committee Report
The following items were discussed: 1). Grant opportunities. 2). Sponsors for the MHOAA Annual Convention such as banks, appliance manufacturers, insurance companies and manufactured home builders. 3). Financing and Budget strategies such as Guiding Star. 4). Value added benefits to MHOAA Members. 5). Website advertising rates were postponed Their next meeting is scheduled for June 19th.
It was announced HB 7726 – provides a tax incentive to encourage community owners to sell the land to the home owners – passed on 6/11.
HB 7667 – provides that manufactured housing will be included in affordable housing counts.
It was reported that HB 487 was signed by the governor tonight. This bill transfers regulatory authority related to manufactured home parks from the Department of Health and the Public Health Council to the Manufactured Homes Commission.
Steve made the motion to adjourn and Tim seconded the motion. All approved. Time: 7:45 p.m.
The next scheduled meeting will be July 9th at 7:00 p.m. EST. The committee reports to be included with the Consent Agenda are due July 2nd .
