Membership Just How Important is My (Individual or Association) Membership to the Nationwide Manufactured Home Owners Association of America (MHOAA)? And How Do I Benefit? The tangible list is long but here are some matters to consider. My membership offers: A personal contact to listen and give me direction. Supports MHOAA to be a “watchdog” on upcoming legislative issues that affect residents in manufactured housing. My membership helps MHOAA work on policy changes that need to happen at HUD on a state and federal level. It helps states to organize and to work on their own state laws for their protections. Individuals and association membership numbers which gives strength and power to all. Greater numbers to assist obtaining grants to promote manufactured housing for all parties. These numbers inspire legislators to ‘act to our benefit’ on behalf of us. It gives encouragement rather than discouragement to other members. This in turn stimulates “team work.” A quarterly newsletter for members with items regarding manufactured housing issues, updates and other items of interest to me. Invitation to attend the national convention. Possible participation in surveys. All of the above encourages the different committees to set higher goals to achieve. These committees and goals are as follows: Bylaws Committee:  Reviews and Updates current Bylaws if necessary. Convention Committee:  Establishes details for 2009 convention. Newsletter Committee:  Determines format, circulation, schedule, etc. Strategic Planning Committee:  Details process, timeline, survey etc. Web site Committee:   Clarifies items, design, pictures etc. to promote site. Legislative Committee:  Assists and encourages legislators in our issues. Finance Committee:  Examines details of all contracts to benefit MHOAA. The intangible list is long but it includes these items: All officers are volunteers. We can relate to each other for we all live in manufactured housing and know first- hand their issues. It is not ‘what can your country (Membership) do for you, but what can you (Your membership) do for your country (MHOAA).” Please forward your membership application (found elsewhere) to Sandy Boone, Treasurer.
